A TRIBUTE TO HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN

Your Majesty, Beloved Queen,
The longest reign that’s ere been seen.
Seventy years upon the throne,
A record held by you alone.
From young Princess to doyen Queen,
Many the changes you have seen.
From inky pens to Hi Tec solution
You have absorbed the revolution.
You really are a “with it” queen,
The best this nation’s ever seen.
The British Empire has had its day,
The Commonwealth is here to stay.
Quiet words of wisdom you dispense,
Everyone listens – we know it makes sense.
Steadfast and constant through the years,
Sharing all our hopes and fears.
Faithful to the Lord above
You fill your life with hope and love.
A faith that’s clear comes shining through,
Manifests itself in what you say and do.
A sense of humour to enthral,
A fine example to us all.
You’ve ruled this land with dedication,
Supremo of this great free nation.
You served your country in the war.
Defender of our faith and law.
You perform your duties with grace and charm,
God keep you free from hurt or harm.
You greet your people with walk about,
And we respond with loyal shout.
God save the Queen
God save the Queen
Fourteen Prime Ministers have come your way,
But you, dear Monarch, still hold the sway.
A passion of your life is horses,
Whether on parade or racing courses.
And you, the course have gladly run,
Now devolving duties to your son.
Now you have reigned for seventy years,
We raise to you three hearty cheers.
We shout with gladness a huge hooray,
To mark this very special day.
God bless you Ma-am, in all you do,
Platinum wishes from us to you.
                                                                                                                                                  John Ray.  June 2022
